Lauren Montalbano iPad Rehab Review

"I don’t even know where to start or how I can express my gratitude to iPad Rehab. 4 days before Christmas my phone suddenly stopped working and wouldn’t turn on. It started what I now know is called “boot looping”. We immediately went to Apple and were told that there was nothing that could be done. My phone was shot. My data was lost. Nothing was backed up in the cloud. I foolishly thought it was automatic, but I learned the hard way that it wasn’t. I was beyond devastated. Every single photo and video of my 2 babies was on that phone. The phone was full of precious memories that I thought were lost forever. I was in tears at the Apple store and one of the employees actually looked at me and said, “I am a genius, and the chance of getting your data back is slim to none”. I was distraught to say the last, and so angry at myself that I let this happen. The people at Apple sold me a new phone, gave me their recommendation for Data Recovery (Drive Savers) and sent me on my way. I called Drive Savers immediately and was given a quote of $4,900. I was shocked but willing to pay as I was desperate and heartbroken to have lost everything.

I started googling like crazy, going down rabbit holes and ending up on various blogs etc. Something wasn’t sitting right with me about putting my phone in the mail and blindly sending to California on Apple’s recommendation. During my incessant googling I kept seeing “iPad Rehab” come up. Something in my gut was telling me that’s where I needed to go. I can’t explain it and even my husband was skeptical and didn’t understand why I wouldn’t go with where Apple recommended. Surely if Apple recommended them then they must be the best right? I just had this really strong feeling so I made the call and spoke to Sunday. She was so sweet right off the bat and said I had a good chance at getting everything back. So, I filled out the quote request online and got a response within 24 hours. I couldn’t believe the quote was $300 ($400 if I wanted it rushed). A few days later my husband was a complete trooper and drove upstate (6 hours each way from Long Island!) to hand deliver my phone. He immediately met with Sunday, and she said they could get started on my phone right away. I was at work, feeling sick to my stomach, trying to be cautiously optimistic and within an hour he called me and asked if I was sitting down. He said they got ALL my data. I was sobbing! And in shock! Not only was all my data saved, but the phone was updated, and everything was synced to the iCloud as well. Before I even had the phone back or the USB my photos started trickling onto my new phone from the cloud. 3 days later we received the USB and the phone in the mail.

I may sound dramatic, but I truly cannot express how grateful I am to iPad Rehab. I am SO glad that I trusted my gut. I only wish I was there to give Sunday a giant hug. I am currently looking through old pictures crying happy tears. As a mom, these memories truly are priceless. There are pictures of my son’s NICU stay, his first steps, first words, first birthday, my daughter’s hospital photos, her first little giggle. The big moments and holidays but even more important, the simple, everyday moments in between that I just want to soak up and never ever forget. It would have been easy for them to make us feel like we were foolish to let this happen but that was NEVER the case. I will never forget this lesson learned and I will never forget the genuine kindness that Sunday and iPad Rehab showed my husband and me. They were so patient and understanding throughout the process. I truly cannot express my gratitude enough. They are wonderful people doing amazing things. iPad Rehab is full of miracle workers! From the bottom of my mama heart, thank you so very much for everything."
